Nokia Ovi Changing Of Being Nokia Service

Ovi brand in the minds of true familiar Nokia user as a value added service names belong to the world's biggest mobile phone vendor. But suddenly, Nokia decided to 'kill' the Ovi brand and turn it into a Nokia Service.

"We made the decision to change the brand of our services from Ovi to Nokia. By centralizing our services identity under one brand, not two, we will reinforce the powerful brand of Nokia and unify our brand architecture," said Jerri Devard, Chief Marketing Officer of Nokia.

Yes, as we quoted from the official Nokia blog, the Finnish vendor has just announced that every service under the Ovi umbrella will be re-branding to Nokia.

"The reason for this decision is that Nokia is a popular and well-loved brand around the world. Experiences integrated with our mobile devices, there will be no differentiation," said Jerri.

The transition from Ovi to Nokia will begin in July 2011 with a target fully completed by the end of 2012. Later a new Nokia phone buyers may be able to see the change, while the old Nokia users will see a re-branding through software update.

Some parties considered, the change is related to the cooperation between Nokia and Microsoft to adopt Windows Phone 7 OS. Nokia promised transition name change will go smoothly and the service continues to run as usual.
