LG Aims for the Smart TV WebOS

South Korea - Early emergence, Google TV is touted as a brilliant idea. But smart TV is slowly fading prestige. LG has a new idea, make a smart TV platform based on the open-source webOS.

HP's decision to stop developing and can no longer produce webOS devices with the OS is unfortunate many. Many also questioned, since HP is spending money that is not small for Palm and webOS.

Yes, remember webOS? The operating system was never used Hewlett-Packard (HP) after the vendors from the United States (U.S.) acquired Palm. Unfortunately, HP then kick 'baby' is new.

A number of challenges faced by LG include application availability. But reportedly, applications such as Netflix, YouTube and Pandora are developing Enyo, HTML5-based framework that relies on core webOS.

As reported by The Verge and we were quoted on Friday (26/10/2012), LG is now seeking to revive webOS on its smart TV product. But to make it happen, LG seems to have to work hard.

Another challenge is all about speed boot. WebOS device known slow start up. Of course, this thing sucks in a device especially TV.
