WP Late Update, Microsoft Blames Vendor

Microsoft explained about the delay updating the operating system (OS) new mobile, Windows Phone 7 (WP7). The software giant said the delay was partly due to the part of the mobile phone vendors who cooperate with it.

Responding to this criticism, Microsoft says WP7 Nodo update is available immediately beginning. But in reality, this update is not applicable for many users.

WP7 launched in October last year, was initially heralded ready to compete with Apple and Google in the smartphone market. This mobile OS is well accepted, but the accompanying criticism, particularly highlighting several basic functions seperticopy paste and multitasking support.

In his statement at the MIX11 developer conference in Las Vegas, Belfiore said the company has begun to make WP7 update, but hampered problems on some newly manufactured phones. Where the phones are some functions do not work.

"We expect this update could come earlier than now," said Joe Belfiore, European head of Microsoft's Windows Phone.

When you find a technical problem, Microsoft said Belfiore immediate overhaul company update procedure.

Reported by Reuters and quoted us, Belfiore did not mention phone vendors meant. But as we know, Samsung Electronics, HTC Corp and LG Electronics are major vendor that makes WP7 handsets.

Belfiore said he was confident that there will be no similar problems in the latest update that will be released later. A more comprehensive update codenamed Mango, immediately available later this year.

"We think it would be better if we were a bit patient, make sure that when released, the update can be relied upon. Unfortunately, this decision caused the delay," he said.

Meanwhile, the relationship MeeGo and LG,.

MeeGo operating system has neglected Nokia that prefer to develop smartphones based on Windows Phone 7 (WP7). But that does not mean MeeGo then lost interest. They begin to look for potential partners such as LG.

"The opportunity is open for others to join. Discussions are underway. You will see something coming this year, soon," said Valtteri Halla, MeeGo development group members.

Initially, MeeGo is a project made by Nokia with Intel. When Nokia make sure to choose WP7, Intel had been promised would continue to develop MeeGo and looking for a partner other than Nokia.

LG spokesman confirmed they helped develop MeeGo. But in the meantime, the South Korean vendor has no plans to mass produce MeeGo gadget. There was also explained that if the device including smartphones.

Halla said previously dominant role in MeeGo Nokia makes another mobile vendor failed to use MeeGo. But not anymore. Halla claiming LG Electronics have joined forces to develop versions of the MeeGo handset, with ZTE and China Mobile.

Currently, the MeeGo-based tablets have been marketed, but not in the smartphone segment. Nokia itself only promised launch a Meego device this year. Similarly, as we quoted from Reuters.
